About Leiden University
The Institute of Security and Global Affairs (ISGA) is a scientific institute that specializes in security issues. It is part of the Faculty of Governance and Global Affairs at Leiden University and developed from the Centre for Terrorism and Counterterrorism (CTC) and the Centre for Global Affairs.
Researchers at the ISGA engage in interdisciplinary research and teaching within the global field of security studies. Its approach is “glocal”, meaning it examines the local, national, transnational, and global impact of security studies in an interconnected manner.
Teaching and researching takes place in the city of The Hague, and this strategic location fosters dynamic interactions between the ISGA and other academic institutions, national and international governments, the private sector, and NGOs.
