Expert meeting
Venezuelan refugee crisis at Aruba, Curaçao and Bonaire
Illustrated by Mas Hab
The deteriorating humanitarian situation in Venezuela has caused more than 4 million refugees to flee the country. This movement has a direct impact on the other countries in our Kingdom, especially on Bonaire, Curaçao and Aruba. This crisis touches on the responsibilities and activities of multiple Dutch governments and organizations.
Partners from the islands were present in the Netherlands in September for a round table conversation about the situation with academics and representatives of different ministries and NGOs, the session was moderated by KUNO. They shared the different context-analyses and activities that are being conducted on the areas of security, human rights and humanitarian action.
Here you can find a report on the meeting (Dutch only).
