On 31 August, about 70 people working in the humanitarian sector gathered in The Hague to discuss various aspects and possibilities of Cash Transfer Programming (CTP) in humanitarian aid. KUNO organized this expert meeting with the cash working group of the Dutch Relief Alliance to facilitate cross-sectoral discussion about the possibilities of CTP.
With professionals present from the public, private and non-profit sectors, the expert meeting proved to be an opportunity to learn from each other and exchange thoughts on what is needed to further scale up CTP in humanitarian aid. Several international cash experts spoke about their research on, or experience with, working with cash transfers. As a closing session, a high panel discussion took place between representatives of the various sectors present, providing an overview of which steps to take for more cooperation on CTP.
The cash working group of the Dutch Relief Alliance and KUNO are exploring possibilities to give shape to a joint learning agenda on cash in humanitarian aid. In this way, we can work together in addressing the issues brought forward during the expert meeting.
More details about the outcomes, speakers and presentations of the event can be found in the official report.
