The War in Ukraine & Challenges for the Humanitarian Sector
The conflict in Ukraine came as a shock to many of us. Its close proximity to the EU gives this crisis a different dimension and has ramifications for the humanitarian sector. It brings up new and old dilemma's that humanitarian organizations must deal with.
During this online event, Hugo Slim and Ed Schenkenberg will offer their reflections on the crisis in Ukraine, the humanitarian response so far, and the challenges and dilemma’s this conflict highlights. After their introductions, there will be room for questions and a discussion.

- Hugo Slim, Senior Research Fellow the Las Casas Institute for Social Justice at Blackfriars Hall, University of Oxford, on the six areas of potential needs where humanitarians might want to get involved and the three tests that the crisis in Ukraine presents to the humanitarian sector.
- Ed Schenkenberg, Executive director at HERE Geneva, on realistic expectations and the distribution of funds.
