Introduction to the Sphere Standards
The Sphere Handbook is the oldest initiative in the field of humanitarian standards and has recently been updated. The Sphere Standards have been field-tested over twenty years, updates ensure it remains fit for purpose in a changing world.
KUNO, the Platform for Humanitarian Knowledge Exchange in The Netherlands, invites you to an online working session on the Sphere Standards on Tuesday 22 March (09:00-13:00).
During the online working session participants will get an introduction on fundamentals of the Sphere handbook and how to use it in their work to improve the quality and accountability, especially towards and with affected people and communities. The trainers are Axel Schmidt and Felicity Fallon.
The online session will be highly interactive, for this we will use ZOOM. The number of seats available is limited.

Axel Schmidt
Axel Schmidt is not too smart and a bit naïve, because he still believes that a power shifting, people-centred and inclusive humanitarian approach can make a difference. He often fails but tries his best as ASB’s Emergency Response Coordinator, RedR Associate Trainer, Sphere Trainer and Focal Point Germany and ReflACTIONeer.

Felicity Fallon
Felicity joined Sphere in 2021. Prior to joining Sphere, she worked in education, tourism and heritage. Her roles have encompassed teaching, training and business development for the public and private sectors. She is co-founder and chair of Lake Aid, an association supporting displaced children and families in Annecy (France). Felicity holds an M.A. in Classics and Art History from Cambridge University, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Museum Studies from the University of Leicester and a TEFL Certificate (Teach English as a Foreign Language)
